Funeral services were held Monday, September 19, for Thaddeus M. Coxe, 79, who died on September 17 at 9 a.m. Dr. R. N. Simpson, Rev. Glenn and Rev. R. B. Lavender officiated at McConnell Service Chapel at 4 p.m. Interment followed in the City Cemetery.
Mr. Coxe, son of the late Obedience Hudson and Christopher Coxe, was born in Morgan County. He resided on Athens route five.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. America Wallace; one daughter, Mrs. Henry Neal Jr. [Adah Swift Coxe Neal]; one grandson, Thad Neal, U.S. Air Force, Dallas, Texas, and one granddaughter, Amy A. Coxe, Athens Route five.
Serving as pallbearers were Jack Christopher, Homer French, John Coffman, E. F. Bullington, A. C. Ezell, Archie Yarbrough, Roy Malone and Marvin Littrell.
