Katherine (Kay) Stimac was the daughter of Philip J. & Pauline (Jakovac) Stimac and grew up on the family farm in Paw Paw, MI. She received an undergraduate degree from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo and a Masters degree from the University of Michigan. After World War II she taught English to military personnel in Germany. Later, she taught Social Studies at Burbank Middle School in the Detroit Public School System. She was a teacher in Detroit for over 39 years. In 2001 she moved from Eastpointe to the Chelsea Retirement Community in Chelsea, MI, where she died at age 97. She will be missed by many nieces and nephews.
