H. D. Bartholomew died at his home about five miles southwest of here just after midnight, Friday night. He was a Union soldier and one of the substantial citizens of the community. His wife died a few weeks ago and they leave one daughter, Mrs. Ethel Parish. The funeral was held at the home, Sunday afternoon. Rev. Leslie L. Long, his pastor, preached the sermon. He was laid to rest in the Stilesville cemetery.
