The Correctionville News, 20 April 1944, page 1: Clarence Victor Lambert, son of Squire and Amelia Lambert, was born September 8, 1874, at Onslow, Iowa. He came with his parents to Woodbury County in the spring of 1883 and has resided on the farm southwest of Pierson which has been his home for 61 years. He was married to Mary Heaton March 8, 1899. To them were born five children, one of whom died in infancy. In January 1909 his wife died. On March 23, 1910, he was united in marriage with Sarah Mahon. There were two children born to this union, one of these dying in infancy. In early manhood he was baptized and united with the Christian church in Pierson, transferring his membership to the Rock Branch Methodist Church in December 1926. Mr. Lambert passed away at his home Monday, April 3, 1944, after a very short illness. Survivors are his wife, Sarah, two daughters, Louise at home, Mrs. Sam Mahon of Rock Branch; three sons, S. Valentine, Riverside, California, Russell E. of Pierson, C. Franklin, farming the home place and ten grandchildren. Funeral arrangements were made by the Wilson-Hull Funeral Home of Correctionville. The last rites were held at the Rock Branch Methodist Church Friday April 7, 1944, with Rev. B.I. Weaver of Quimby and Rev. C.B. Wittstruck of Rock Branch officiating. Burial was in the Rock Branch Cemetery.
