Florence Medora Wilkinson Evans was born in Mississippi in 1850, the daughter of Stephen Wilkinson and Elizabeth Lindsey Wilkinson Trigg Kersh. She married Albert W. Evans in Rankin County, Mississippi on June 9, 1874.

The 1880 Census for Grenada, Graysport, Mississippi lists A.W. and F.M. and their children, L.E. (Lulu), and W.E.F. (Willie). Dora died in 1891. The 1900 Census for Cuero, Dewitt County, Texas lists Alfred (instead of Albert) W. and children, Lulu, Willie E., Paul E., Howard, and Laura M. Two other children, Laurence and Bessie died in childhood.

Dora's name and dates are inscribed on the east side of her gravestone and two of her children, Laurence's and Bessie's, are on the south side of the gravestone. Their graves with small headstones are next to Dora's on the south side and Albert is buried beside Dora on the north side.
