George Kepics, 81, passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2000 at the VA Hospital in Gainesville after a long illness.
Born in Trenton, New Jersey, he moved to Crescent City in July 1974 from Milford, Ohio. He was a veteran of WW II having served his country with the Air Force. During his tour of duty he earned the Airman Medal, the Distinguished Flying Cross, Purple Heart, and Clusters of Stars and Stripes. He was a member of D.A.V, A.A.R.P. and St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Crescent City.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Zredah Kepics, Crescent City; sons, Gregory L. Kepics, Belle Chasse, Louisiana, Anthony "Tony" Kepics, Orlando; daughter, Virginia Omnitz, Cincinnati, Ohio; sister, Terry Lally, Lake Wales; grandsons, Jeff Omnitz, Benjamin David Kepics, Trace Thomas; granddaughters, Jody Omnitz, Melissa Kepics, Jennifer Kepics.
Services will be 9 a.m. Monday, July 17, 2000, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
