He was born October 28, 1903, in Harrison, Arkansas to William L. and Lily Elizabeth (Wood) Bowers and in 1915, moved to Meridian, where he was educated. He married Helen L. Voorhees June 21, 1927, at Boise, Idaho. She died in July 1977.
He worked at Campbell-Simpson Buick Co. and the Anderson Buick Co. for 42 years. He and Helen owned a farm near Meridian and lived there for 35 years.
He was a member of the Meridian United Methodist Church and the Modern Woodman.
Surviving are a son, Don Bowers of Meridian; two daughters, Mrs. Barbara Meier of Boise, and Mrs. Laveril Gibson of Meridian; a sister, Mrs. Pearl Mabe of Nampa, Idaho; seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Jerrel, and two sisters, Gracie Pfost and Ethel Ellis.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth and Larry Bowers, Ronald and Myron Breshears, David Gibson and Gary Mabe.
