-- Mrs. Anna Lee Shaw Truesdale, 87, of 92 Lakeshore Drive, Pawleys Island, formerly of Kershaw, passed away Sunday, August 27, 2000 at the National Health Care Center in Garden City. Mrs. Truesdale was born May 6, 1913 in Kershaw a daughter of the late Charles Edward and Mary Ann "Molly" Horton Shaw. She was the widow of the late C. Foster Truesdale, Sr. Mrs. Truesdale was co-owner and operator of Fosters Restaurant in Kershaw from 1942 to 1974. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Kershaw. She was known and respected as a lady for the many dominant forces in her life; the love and dedication to her family; and to her god given talent in music and to her preparation and sharing of food.
Funeral services for Mrs. Truesdale will be held Wednesday, August 30, 2000 at 2:00 PM from the Cauthen Funeral Home, Kershaw Chapel conducted by her pastor, the Rev. Bryant D. Fersner, Jr. and Rev. Donald Coppedge of Kershaw. Burial will be in the Kershaw City Cemetery.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Randall (Libby) Gardner of Pawleys Island and Mrs. Larry (Bobbie) Taylor of Kershaw; a son, Mr. C. Foster Truesdale, Jr. of Kershaw; a sister, Mrs. Edrid S. Gambrell of Blackstock; thirteen grandchildren; twenty one great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Shirley Lee Truesdale and Mrs. C. W. (Janet T.) Miles.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 29, 2000 from 7 PM until 9 PM at the Cauthen Funeral Home, Kershaw Chapel.
Memorial gifts may be made to the First Baptist Church, PO Box 67, Kershaw, SC 29067 or to the Alzheimer Association, c/o Lancaster County Council on Aging, PO Box 1296, Lancaster, 29721-1296.
