Mrs. Kate Myers, South Seventh street, widow of the late Morris Myers, and mother of Julius, Albert and Louis Myers, members of the Myers Brothers clothing firm, died yesterday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jules Straus, of Danville, after a lingering illness.

Mrs. Myers was 91 years old and she had resided in Springfield for the last sixty years. She was born in Obersemen, Germany, Feb. 18, 1832, and came to the United States in 1841, when she was 9 years old. Her maiden name was Kate Hahn. For a number of years her family resided in Cincinnati, where she was married to Mr. Myers, and moved directly to Athens, where they resided until they came to Springfield.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow at the Temple B'rith Sholem and interment will be made in Oak Ridge cemetery. Mrs. Myers' three sons have been in the clothing business for many years. Their store was closed at noon yesterday and will remain closed until after the funeral is held.

The remains will arrive in Springfield this evening and will be removed to the family residence in South Seventh street. The family requests that friends omit flowers. - IL State Journal, Springfield, IL, 4-5-1923
