Funeral services for William A. Lawler, longtime resident of Henderson County, were held Sunday from Memory Chapel, Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home. Rev. Kirby Johnson officiated and interment was in the Edom Cemetery.
Mr. Lawler, 90, passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Hattie Emerson, in Brownsboro Saturday evening. He had been ill for only a short time.
The deceased was a retired farmer and a member of the Baptist Church. Born in Alabama, he moved to Athens from Canton some 15 years ago. He had been living with his daughter the past few weeks.
Survivors are two sons, W.R. Lawler of Brownsboro and Charles Lawler of Dallas; six daughters, Mrs. Emerson, Mrs. Alice Tharp of Fort Worth, Mrs. Eunice Boyd of Edom, Mrs. Connie Smith of Glendale, California, Mrs. Helen Watson and Mrs. Daphne Harville, both of Dallas; one brother, J.B. Lawler of Belton; 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Grandsons were pallbearers.
