Joseph Benjamin Lawler obit

Joe lawler of Edom died Thursday, March 9, at the age of 48 years. He had been ill of pneumonia only five days. He knew everything until the last and was conscious of his losing fight, stating that he was ready to go.

He had been a member of the Baptist church for 27 years. He is surviving by his widow, one daughter, and an adopted daughter and two step-children. He is survived also by his parents, two brothers, Robert of Sudan and Abner of Dallas, and by six sisters, namely; Mrs. Eunice Boyd, Edom; Mrs. Floyd Tharp, Cranfills Gap; Mrs. Hattie Lewis, Brownsboro; Mesdames W. H. Harvil, Felix Smith and P. D. Butler, all of Dallas.

'A precious one from us is gone,
A voice we loved is still,
A place is vacant in our home
That never can be filled.

'God in His wisdom has recalled
The Soul His love has given;
And, though the body slumber here,
The soul is safe in Heaven."
