Eddie was born June 21, 1942, in Bryan, Texas to Francisco and Maria "Nena" Rodriguez. The son of a WWII veteran, Eddie lived his life to the fullest each day. As the owner of Eddie's Body Shop for 33 years, he was inspired by challenge. In 1967, he joined the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC). In 1968, he was voted the first scholarship chairman for Bryan LULAC. In 1980, he co-founded the LULAC Oakhill living quarters for the elderly and handicapped.
