Viola Martha "Vi" Seher Wild was born October 23, 1924 in Streeter, North Dakota and passed away 18 August 2009 in Amarillo, Texas. She was the oldest of six children born to August Seher and Bertha Kuck Seher.

In 1927 Vi's parents and younger brother "Cotton" traveled by train to Clinton, Oklahoma, where the family established their home. Vi attended school in Clinton. She was a member of the National Honor Society and graduated from Clinton High School as Salutatorian of her class in 1943. Vi declined a scholarship to Phillips University at Enid, OK to begin her career with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. It was Vi's desire to help financially her sister and brothers to obtain a high school education. At that time students were required to buy all school supplies including all books (or borrow from students) which she often did.

Vi married Robert Eugene Wild, November 9, 1952 , in Clinton, OK. Bob was a Procurement Officer at Tinker Air Force Base. They made their home in Midwest City, OK until they moved July 4, 1979 to Oklahoma City. Bob & Vi celebrated nearly 52 years of a wonderful marriage before Bob passed away August 28, 2004.

After Bob and Vi retired they did a lot of traveling and volunteer work together at Church of the Servant, Skyline Urban Ministry, Lyric Theatre, Arthritis Foundation, Christmas Connection, City Arts, SBC Pioneers, Oklahoma County Election Board and many others. She served on many Board of Directors and held various offices. In 1985 Vi founded the Skyline "Clothes for Kids" back to school project at her church. Later she organized the May (month long) food drive for Skyline Urban Ministry Food Pantry. Another project dear to her is the Community Charity Eye Clinic at Skyline for the low income families with children's need for glasses. Bob & Vi received many volunteer awards over the years. Vi received the Chapter (state) Volunteer Life Member of the Year Award, SBC Pioneers, 1999-2000. After Bob's death, Vi continued with her volunteer work and her love of helping others. Vi believed the good Lord put us on this earth to help take care of those in need. She was dedicated to her faith, her family which she loved very much and her friends. She leaves a legacy of integrity and love for others. Vi began her career as a telephone operator in Clinton, OK, July 13, 1943, six months later promoted to Business Office Service Representative. In 1952 transferred to the Oklahoma City Sales Department (later known as Marketing). For several years she worked with the Marketing Assessment Team in Southwestern Bell Region. Vi retired with nearly 38 years of service, February 19, 1981 as Marketing Supervisor-Retail Division. Her group's last big job was servicing communication needs to the retail merchants from ground up at Quail Springs Mall, completed October 1980.

Preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bob; four brothers, Lee Roy, Albert, Lester and Alvin (Sonny) Seher; sisters-in-law, Marie Baron Kamany Seher, and Phyllis Wild Dearmon; niece, Debra Wasland; nephews, Harry Kamany and Robert Paul Seher.

Survived by her sister, Leona Goodman (with whom she had a special bond) and husband Jim; sisters-in- law, Theresa Seher Casey, Nancy Seher and Ethel Seher; nephews, Travis Goodman and wife Salem, Dow Seher and wife Vicki, Matthew Seher and Don Seher and wife June; nieces, Kathy Kyle and husband Mike, Tracy Wood and husband Jesse, Marla Eichholtz and JoAnne Wasland.

Celebration of Life Service: Friday, August 21, at Church of the Servant, with private entombment at the side of her husband in Arlington Memory Gardens, Midwest City, OK.

In lieu of flowers, Vi requests donations be made to: Clinton Public School Foundation, P.O. Box 822, Clinton, OK 73601, The Servant Foundation, Missions Fund, 14343 N. MacArthur Blvd., Oklahoma City, OK 73142 or the donor's favorite charity.
