Father Henry Koch (Russia)
Funeral service for Frank Koch, 85, resident of Adams county, since 1889 who died last week, were held Sunday at the Zion Congregational church with the ev. F. Burkhardt officiating. Burial was in the Ritzville cemetery. He became seriousl ill about the first of January and died at 6 a.m. last Thursday.
He was born June 22, 1852 in Kolb, Russia and ws married to Katherine Marguerite Oestreich in 1872. The couple moved to the United States in 1888 settling in Walla Walla, but remained there only one year, moving to a ranch five miles west of here. In 1901, the family moved to a ranch two miles from Ritzville. In 1907, the family moved again to Ritzville and retired.
Besides his widow, he is survived by three children. Mrs. Henry W. Thiel, Henry F. Kock and Miss Dena Koch; 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. His pallbearers were four grandsons and two great grandsons, Floyd Thiel, Floyd Koch, Herman Heimbigner, Frank Heimbigner, Archie Rehn and Alvin Rehn.
One daughter, Mrs. Henry Heimbigner, died in 1918. His widow is also 85 years old, there being only 18 days difference in the age.
