Sara E. "Sally" Brantlinger Cyphert, 86, of Blairsville died Saturday, Feb. 22, 2003, in the Green Oaks Personal Care Home, Black Lick.
She was born Sept. 23, 1916, in Blairsville, a daughter of Frank H. and Minnie Findley Brantlinger.

Mrs. Cyphert lived her entire life in Blairsville, where she was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution; the Bushy Run Chapter of the Colonists; Blairsville Chapter 166, Order of the Eastern Star and the Huguenot Society.

She was a Blairsville High School graduate. Before retiring, she worked at Torrance State Hospital.

Surviving are her extended family of nieces, nephews, neighbors and caregivers who fondly remember "Aunt Sally" for her generous spirit, acts of kindness, blue eyes and friendly smile.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Francis J., whom she married in 1947 and who died in 1995; five brothers: Don F., Ben M., Herbert P., William W. and Fred H.; and two sisters, Jane Fetzer and Peg Cohen.

A funeral service was held Wednesday in the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Blairsville with the Rev. Dean E. Byrom officiating. Interment was in the Blairsville Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, Blairsville.
