Audrey Olsen, our mom, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and sister, died peacefully at her home on August 16, 2009. She resided at 6072 South 1480 East in Murray, Utah at the time of her death.


Audrey was born May 24, 1923 to William Hyrum Rice and Ida Lily Tracy.


Mom married the love of her life, William R. Olsen, on November 10, 1945 in Wellington, Kansas. Later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on June 8, 1962.


Mom grew up in Almo, ID, the oldest of 10 children. Mom loved to bowl, golf, and travel with Dad. They traveled extensively, all 50 states, Europe, Canada, and South America. She golfed in a ladies league into her eighties, even a Hole in One.


Mom is survived by her four children, Vicki (Paul) Peacock, William Michael (Brenda) Olsen, Robert Gene (Jan) Olsen, Jerri (Brad) Greene; sisters Opal Lewis, June (Bob) Norman, Wilma (Kent) Carlson, Oleta (JoDee) Willett, Marva (Dale) Giles; brother Cecil (Wilma) Rice; 10 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Mom is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, William R. Olsen, her parents, two infant sisters and one brother, Kirby Rice. Mom loved the Lord and was actively engaged in service in the church. She was an outgoing, caring person, loving everyone, and always willing to help. Mom is now in the loving arms of her sweetheart, Bill, and reunited with their faithful dog Lucky.


Funeral Services will be held in the Little Cottonwood First Ward Chapel, 6350 South Rodeo Lane (1545 East), on Friday, August 21, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. A viewing will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2009 at Memorial Estates Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East, Murray, and one hour prior to the services on Friday at the Church.
Interment at the Murray City Cemetery, 5490 South Vine Street (730 East), Murray, UT.
