McFARLANE, Harold Douglas - Passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener. Harold resided in New Hamburg and was born 85 years ago in Wilmot Township. He was the son of the late George and Lavina (Capling) McFarlane. Beloved husband of Florence (Leis) McFarlane whom he married September 3, 1958. Loving father and grandfather of Brian and Penny Lynn McFarlane of New Hamburg and their children, Kyle and Andrea McFarlane and Krystal McFarlane, David and AnnaLisa McFarlane of White Rock, B.C. and their children, Caleb and Aidan McFarlane, Mark McFarlane and Mary Campbell of New Hamburg and Sara McFarlane of Fernie, B.C. Also missed by his brother, Robert and Clara Mae McFarlane of New Hamburg; sisters-in-law, Jean Kipfer of New Hamburg, Erma and Ervin Steinmann of New Hamburg, Jean Leis of Kitchener and Arvilla Leis of Tavistock. Harold was predeceased by his sisters, Anne and Ed Fergusson, Fern and Herman Cherry, Veryl and Lloyd Pogson, Alice and Ralph Pattison, Gladys and Thomas Baker and brothers, Percy and Beatrice McFarlane, Sydney McFarlane, Wesley and Eva McFarlane, Jim and Audrey McFarlane, Jack and Merva McFarlane. Harold attended Steinmann Mennonite Church, Baden. Harold farmed until moving to New Hamburg where he then owned and operated a carpentry company for many years. He enjoyed golfing, shuffleboard, walking and talking with friends and family. Family and friends may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home , 291 Huron St., New Hamburg on Saturday, November 15, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Sunday, November 16, 2008 at 3 p.m. at Steinmann Mennonite Church, Baden with Pastor Ilene Bergen and Pastor Myrna Miller Dyck officiating. A family interment in St. Andrew's Cemetery, North Easthope Township on Monday. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Steinmann Mennonite Church or Nithview Home (New Bus Fund).
