Ferdinand Koenig was born in Budapest, Hungary and immigrated to the United States in 1903. He was Naturalized November 14, 1927. Ferdinand Koenig was a custom tailor for a company that provided clothes to NYC Mayor Jimmy Walker. He made vests and worked very hard to support four children. The family took summer vacations away from the city in the Catskill Mountains. In Polk's 1918 New York City book, Ferdinand Koenig is shown as a tailor residing at 304 E 92 Street in Yorkville, Manhattan, New York.
Ferdinand came to New York and started working as a tailor when he was 12 years old and worked for 35 years. He was 48 at the time of his death in 1890 instead of 1891 December 15.
He and Margaret Bednarik were married in City Hall, New York City on October 26, 1912. Witnesses were John Jave and Rudolf Krapes. About 1928 he was hospitalized in the Bronx, New York and requested a Catholic marriage ceremoney which was performed at the hospital.
