She was born June 26, 1876, in Jackson Township, a daughter of the late Porter and Elizabeth Loar Phillips. Mrs. Jackson was a faithful member of the Methodist Church.
Besides her husband she leaves two daughters, Mrs. Harold (Fern) Boyles, Mannington, W. Va., and Mrs. Erwin (Clara) Shank, Columbus, O. A son of the former marriage, Floyd Huffman, was killed in France during World war I. Also surviving are four brothers; George A. (Clara) Phillips, Waynesburg; William (Dorothy) Phillips, Baltimore, Md.; Harvey (Verna) Phillips, Carmichaels, and John (Myrtle) Phillips, Harrisville, W. Va. There are five grandchildren.
