Burns was married to Barbara (Wheeler) Burns of Steele on August 10, 1974, who survives of the home. He was a carpenter and a member of the Pentecostal faith.
Survivors includes his wife, Barbara (Wheeler) Burns of Steele; a son, Paul N. Burns of Steele; two daughters Jonie Burns and Melody Burns, both of Steele; two brothers, Shannon Burns and T.J. Burns, both of Savannah, Tenn.; three sisters, Shirly Burns of St. Louis, Reginia King of Bloomfield and Janie Seigler of Doniphan.
Services were held at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Steele, on Saturday, May 8, 1999, at 2 p.m., with Rev. Glynn Davis officiating. Interment was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele.
