Funeral services conducted for John Van Houten, 83, Saturday, Oct. 30, in Escalon Christian Reformed Church.
Internment followed at the local Burwood Cemetery.
Deegan Funeral Chapel of Escalon handled arrangements.
Mr. Van Houten, a native of Slayton, Minnesota, died Monday, Oct. 25, at Doctors Medical Center, Modesto.
He lived in Escalon 48 years, was self-employed as an almond farmer, and member of Escalon Reformed Church.
Survivors include his wife, Ida Van Houten; children, Carolyn Thomas of Massachusetts, Adrian Van Houten, Martin Van Houten, both of Escalon, Fern Koben of Orange City, Iowa; brothers, Paul Van Houten, Marion Van Houten, Richard Van Houten, all of Modesto, Art Van Houten of Palmdale, Bernard Van Houten of Merced; Cornelia Vander Gong of Denver, Colorado, Louise Schemper of Bellflower, Bernice Viss of Bridgeport; and 11 grandchildren.
