Mrs. Evans was born in Florence County, a daughter of Ellie Parker Alford and Alice Hyman Alford.
She was a member of Happy Home Freewill Baptist Church and was a former quality control operator at Oneita Industries.
She was survived by two sons, Mervin Evans and Edward Allen Evans, both of Andrews; a daughter, Margie Ann Miller of Andrews; four brothers, Rutledge Alford, Nathan Alford, Etheridge "Noot" Alford, and the Rev. John Henry Alford, all of Andrews; three sisters, Aline Parrott, Lizzie Mae Cox, and Evelyn Swails, all of Andrews; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were Wednesday, July 29, 1992, in Happy Home Freewill Baptist Church. Burial, directed by McKenzie Funeral Home, followed in Ivey Cemetery.
