According to Book 3, P. 111 of Waseca County, MN. birth records, Anna K. Von Sien was born Oct. 15, 1884.

Anna was the 7th of 10 children born to Wilhelm (William) Frederick John Von Sien and Catharine/Kathryn Theis Von Sien in Woodville, Waseca, Minnesota. Wilhelm also had a daughter, Erda, by his previous marriage to Frederike Famer, who died in 1871.

24 yr. old sister, Lydia Vonsein, a dressmaker, b. Mar. 1876 in MN.

While on her vacation Miss von Sien will go to Aberdeen, S.D., for a visit at the home of Dean Goodsell. She expects to return to the city in about three weeks.

Anna lived for a time with her sister, Emma Beese in Valley City, North Dakota, where she worked at Brown's Dry Goods/Dept. Store. In the 1920 U.S. census, she was working as a salesgirl at a dry goods store and rooming with Fred & Kate Heidel in Valley Ward 3, Barnes, North Dakota.

According to the 1922 NY, NY City Directory, Anna K. VonSien was living at 1170 Broadway in New York City and working as a buyer for a dept. store.
In 1925, she was working as a resident buyer at 1175 Madison Ave. in NYC.

By the 1930 U.S. census, she was rooming on W. 94th St. off of Central Park, West in Manhattan, New York City, where she worked as a buyer for a ready-to-wear dept. store. In 1937, she was still living in NYC, according to her mother's obituary.

According to the 1940 U.S. census, 48 yr. old Anna K. Vonsien, single, working as a Personal Buyer of Ladies Wear and b. in MN., was lodging with the proprietress of the rooming house, 39 yr. old Anna Hohoman and 12 other lodgers at 533 West End Ave. (a few blocks from Central Park West) in New York, New York, NY.
In 1935, Anna was living in the same place.
Anna had completed one year of college.
She was working on her own account. She worked 52 weeks in 1939. She had no income, but had income from other sources.

It was book day fro Cucamonga Alta Loma Woman’s club Thursday afternoon when they held their February meeting at the Alta Loma library on Lomita drive.
Seven librarians were present from nearby cities.
Mrs. Ray Derfer and Mrs. Ray Ford presided over the tea table during the social hour. Valentine motif was used in the red and white decorations. Guests present were (4 women from San Bernardino); (2 women from Upland); (3 women from Ontario); from Seattle, Mrs. (Miss) Anna K. Von Sien and (3 women from Cucamonga).

Anna was very slim, a diabetic, very pleasant, businesslike, never married and never had children.

Anna died in Alhambra, L. A., CA. and the service was at the Stone Funeral Home in Upland, San Bernardino Co., CA. on Nov. 26, 1962 at 10:30 a.m. Officiating was the Rev. Harry W. Adams. Anna's final resting place is in the Bellevue Mausoleum in Ontario, San Bernardino Co., CA. Her remembrance card included the Twenty-Third Psalm.
