BRECKENRIDGE, NORMAN, a native of Vermont, went to New York state and there married Tryphena Rosencrans. He carried on farming in Oswego Co., N.Y., until 1834, when he came to Ohio with his wife and three children, living in Wakeman a year, then moving to Camden and bought the Peterman farm - across from the Gibbs farm - 66 acres at $2.50 per acre. Twenty years later he bought the west half of the next lot east. The house he first lived in was burnt and he built a smaller one, which is yet standing. In 1838 he borrowed from the State of Ohio, $100, secured by a mortgage, which was canceled in 1852. He had children, Alonzo L., Norman, Mary, Daniel W., Benjamin F., Judd A., Henry C., and Frances, and a son, Francis E., who died March 24, 1849, at the age of 16. The son Norman died May 6, 1863, in the army, aged 28.

Alonzo L. Breckenridge, born Oct. 30, 1831, married M. Arvilla Bohall and lived on a farm in Henrietta for eleven years then moved to Kipton village and lived in the brick house of Mrs. Campbell. He and his brother B. F., were engaged in mercantile business in partnership, but divided and Alonzo operated the warehouse business, until his death August 6, 1908. The wife died May 10, 1880. They had a daughter, Nina, who married Willard Granger, a son of Thomas Whitney's wife, and she died Nov. 21, 1928.

Benjamin F. Breckenridge was born Nov. 11, 1840, and married, June 4, 1863, Mary, daughter of George Arnold. He lived on the Blackwell farm for a time, then removed to Kipton where he carried on the store. He died Dec. 21, 1917. He had no children, but adopted a daughter, Georgia [Gibbs].

Henry Breckenridge married, July 4, 1867, Elida, Daughter of Moses Holcomb, and who died July 25, 1874, aged 26. They lived in Michigan, then came back and lived in the house now occupied by William Brumby. He married, 2nd, a Cole girl. He had children, Mattie and Earl.

Daniel Webster Breckenridge, born April 4, 1839, died at Huntington Beach, California, April 1, 1918, married, [perhaps] Jane Welburn Dec. 5, 1849. He married Mary, daughter of Minot Pierce, of Wakeman.

Frances Breckenridge, married, perhaps, - - Lamphier. We have record of Mary Agnes Lamphier, born Nov. 13, 1880, died July 15, 1896, and Florence Lamphier, born Nov. 11, 1882, died Sept. 17, 1906.

The Breckenridge brothers joined forces and purchased timber land in Michigan, put up a sawmill, cleared the land of timber and founded the town of Breckenridge. Alonzo and Ben did not live there and sold out their interest. Henry did not remain but the others did. Norman Breckenridge died Dec. 22, 1860, aged 61. The wife died Nov. 14, 1874, aged 64.
