Dora S. Barber, 86, of Ashland, died Friday, Aug. 14, 2009, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
She was born Feb. 23, 1923, in Floyd County, Ky., the daughter of the late Elbert S. and Susie Young Salyers. She was a former employee of the Chimney Corner Restaurant and a member of Ashland First Church of God.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Barber.
Survivors include four daughters, all of Ashland; six sons; a sister, of Flat Rock, Ala.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 17, 2009, at Miller Funeral Home in Ashland by the Rev. Mabel Johnson. Burial will follow at Ashland Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Community Hospice, 1538 Central Ave., Ashland, KY 41101.
