Son of Martin Luther & Frances Ann (Richards) Kimball; Edwin R. Kimball, manager of the Creamery Package Manufacturing Company in Kansas City and Omaha, died at 12 o'clock yesterday at his home, 948 Cleveland Avenue, Kansas City, Kas., after an illness of five weeks with typhoid fever. Mr. Kimball had been at the point of death for two weeks. He had experienced a number of relapses, from which he partially rallied. Early yesterday morning his physicians announced that he had only a few hours to live. At the hour of his death his mother, Mrs. F. R. Kimball, of Chicago, his wife and his four children were at his bedside. Mr. Kimball was in his 39th year.
He was born in Berlin, Wisconsin on November 24, 1863, where he was reared and educated. Before he had reached his majority he went to Rock Falls, Ill., and helped to establish the first branch of the Creamery Package Manufacturing Company, becoming a charter member. This was in 1881. In 1885 he first came to Kansas City and established the Kansas City branch of the company, of which he was made manager. Mr. Kimball was one of the largest stockholders in the company, and received a large salary for his work as manager of the two branches in his charge. He owned valuable property in Kansas City, Kas., including the residence where the family resides.
