Son of Jeremiah Morse and Elizabeth Hamant Morse of Medfield,MA.

Samuel inherited his father's homestead at the south part of the town. He was a blacksmith by trade.

His first wife, married at Medfield Feb 8,1715/6, was Sarah Starr Morse, daughter of Comfort Starr and Mary Stone Starr of Dedham and Watertown. She died at Medfield Oct 17,1722. His second wife was Abigail Fisher Morse, married at Medfield,MA on Nov 13,1726.

Children(by first marriage): Sarah Morse, Samuel Morse Jr, and Bathsheba Morse Richardson.

Children(by second marriage): Abigail Morse Morse, Sarah Morse Allen, Mary Morse Clark, William Morse, and Margaret Morse Dunton Peters.
