Julia was born on February 19, 1872. Her parent were Eual Archie Henry and Mattie Helen Drain. She was married to Andy P. Messick in 1889 at Mountain Home, Arkansas. Nine children were born to this union. With her family she lived in Arkansas, Territory of Oklahoma and Texas. She was paralyzed from her waist down the last fifteen years of her life, still doing her duties as a mother and housewife. One daughter recalls as a little girl she would push the pedal's of the sewing machine so that her mother could sew.
Julia will be buried in South Fairview Cemetery, Wellington,Texas.
