Funeral services for John Henry Steele were held at the Olinger Funeral Home in Denver, Colo. With Rev. Johnson Officiating. He died on September 5, at the Spears Hospital in Denver, Colorado at the age of 61 years.

Burial was made in Crown Hill Cemetery, Denver.

John Henry Steele, son of Jas H. and Altazana Steele, was born on a farm six miles north of Waukon, Iowa, on September 3, 1888. In 1900 he moved with his parents to a farm eight miles northeast of Lake Andes, where he grew to manhood.

On Dec. 22, 1912, he was married to Effie Crosby. Following the marriage they
moved to Fall River County where he had filed a claim. Later they moved to Rapid City and lived there until four years ago when they moved to Denver. He lived there until the time of his death.

He leaves to mourn his passing his widow, Effie; two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Evans
of Lake Andes, and Stella Hoven of Mitchell; two brothers, Samuel of Lake Andes,and Carl, Washougal, Wash.; and several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.

He was a member of the Methodist Church.
