(b. @1856), Franklin W. (b. @1860), Harvey F. (b. @1868), and Rodey W. (b. @1873). In 1860, he was still a blacksmith but living in Upper Swatara Township, Dauphin County.
A Civil War veteran, he was drafted in Harrisburg October 29, 1862, mustered into federal service there November 2 as a sergeant with Co. C, 177th Pennsylvania Infantry (aka "Drafted Militia"), and honorably discharged with his company August 5, 1863. He also enlisted and mustered into federal service at Harrisburg February 18, 1865, as 2nd lieutenant of Co.
