I welcome corrections, additional information, and requests for linking family members. Please use the "edit" tab and enter the memorial ID numbers to connect someone to their parents or spouse.
I've had to re-think my willingness to transfer memorials that are not my relatives. Some people strictly adhere to guidelines as if they are law, so if that is the case, I will respect the laws you have set for others. Some people are only concerned with numbers and ownership. But when you send them additional info, they either have lost interest or ignore requests for updates.
I try to be fairly liberal to anyone genuinely interested in maintaining a memorial, but if your updates can be made through the "edit" tab, I don't understand why ownership is a big issue. I respond quickly to any suggested edits or additional info on the memorials I have created. I certainly comply with the FindaGrave guidelines when it comes to near relatives.
If you have photos of anyone I have created a memorial for, and you are not a FindaGrave member, I will gladly post the photos to the memorial site to put more faces with the names and dates. Please contact me privately and provide a method of communication if your profile does not contain your e-mail address.
Please remember that Find-a-Grave is a network of volunteers. If someone takes the time to locate the gravesite for you, photograph the marker, and post it to the site for you, please take the time to acknowledge their efforts.
My pet peeve is boundless harvesting of another person's research and publishing it elsewhere as your own. That's not genealogy, it's downright inconsiderate.
