Jeannie was on a fishing trip to Toledo Lake with her grandparents, who left her in their pickup truck for a moment. The keys were in the truck, and according to the police report, Jeannie apparently started the truck, and it rolled into the lake.
Survivors include her parents, Eugene Meshell and Patricia Leone, and maternal grandparents. Jeannie's funeral services were held January 6, 1975, at the Zwolle First Baptist Church. She was laid to rest in the Zwolle Cemetery.
