Nuckolls county (sic) los (sic) one of its real pioneers in the death of Mrs. Mary Yunker who passed away at her home in Lawrence Monday, November 12. Mrs. Yunker with her husband, Peter Junxer (sic), settled on Liberty Creek two miles east and a mile south of Lawrence in 1871. This remained their home until 1902, when they moved to town. Mr. Yunker died several years ago. Ten children survive, also a brother, Henry Schum of Clinton, Oklahoma. The children are: Lewis Yunker, Wakita, Oklahoma; Rose Buescher, Laramie, Wyoming; Lucy Roberts, Sargent, Nebr.; Frank Yunker, Elkhart, Kansas; Peter Yunker, Bloom, Kansas; Mary Folmer, Oak, Nebr.; Celia Kempin, Two Buttes, Colorado; Lawrence at home; Tony Yunker, Osawatomie, Kansas. Two daughters, Anna Collins and Clara Bradley, died in 1925. Funeral services were conducted at the Sacred Heart church (sic) in Lawrence Wednesday of last week. Deceased was 79 years of age.
