He was born July 30, 1916, in Jacksonville, the son of Carl O. and Laura Payne Anderson.
He is survived by a daughter, Connie Burton of Ashland; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Paul "Reg" Anderson; a daughter-in-law, Denise Farmer Anderson; and three brothers, Robert, Charles and Raymond Anderson.
Mr. Anderson served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a farmer prior to working with the Ashland Street Department for 18 years and the Ashland Police Department for six years. He retired from LA Security of Springfield. He also assisted with the Plattner's Trail Ride for several years. He served 19 years as an Ashland Village Trustee and volunteered many hours as an umpire for Ashland Youth Baseball. He was a member of Ashland Church of Christ, Ashland VFW Post and Ashland American Legion Post.
