Annie graduated from Killeen High School in 1936. In 1940, she moved to Austin. where she graduated from the Nixon Clay Commercial School in 1941. She was a librarian in Austin. She began a civil service career in 1942, retiring in 1976. She worked at Ft. Hood, Panama Canal Zone, was with the occupational forces in Japan, and later worked at Los Alamos. When she retired in 1976, Annie moved to Albuquerque, N.M. and to Lubbock in 1992.
She was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, Lubbock's New Neighbors Club, Metropolitan Bridge Club and Women's Club.
Annie was preceded in death by her siblings, Daisy Schafer, Edna Lee Rainey, Ada Margaret Carroll, Dorothy Lemley and Vada Buck.
Her survivors include her sister, Fredda and husband Wilburn Maeker of Lubbock; brother, James Blair of Lubbock; and numerous nieces, nephews and cherished friends.
