Mrs. Retta P. HOFFMAN, 75, lifelong resident of Akron, died at her home at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. She had been in failing health for the past four years. She was born July 20, 1879, to William and Margaret (THOMPSON) BRIGHT. Her husband, Arthur HOFFMAN, died 12 years ago. Mrs. Hoffman was a member of the Akron Church of God. Surviving are two daughters, Nora [HOFFMAN], at home, and Mrs. Estella RACSTER of Maywood, Ill.; two sons, William BEMENDERFER of Indianapolis, and Gerald BEMENDERFER of Bass Lake; a stepson, Delbert HOFFMAN of Rochester; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; a half-brother, Clifford BRIGHT of Akron; and a half-sister, Mrs. Harold NORMAN of Gilead. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Akron Church of God, with the Rev. D. L. SLAYBAUGH and the Rev. Arthur CONRAD officiating. Burial will be in the Akron cemetry. Friends may call at the Moyer-Haupert funeral home.
