SEDAN, N.M. - John Joseph "Jodie" Bush, 85, died Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2009.
Services will be at 10 a.m. CDT Saturday in First Baptist Church in Texline, Texas. Burial will be in Texline Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton.

John Joseph "Jodie" Bush was born Oct. 28, 1923, in Sedan to Richard Walter Bush and Ivey Pearl Coil Bush. Jodie served two years in the Navy during World War II and earned his bachelor's degree in 1957 from New Mexico Highlands University and his master's degree in 1968 from Eastern New Mexico University. He taught school in Tucumcari for 23 years.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Bush; three daughters, Nancy Griffin of Cathedral City, Calif., Wanda Grubb and husband Tom of Gold Canyon, Ariz., and Carolyn Icender of London; a son, Larry Bush of Gallup; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
