Mrs. James A. Yunker Sr., 87, formerly of 1824 Rosedale Ave., died Tuesday at her home. She was the former Ruth M. Veazey, a native of Paducah. She had written a social column, "Through the Looking Glass," for the old Herald Post newspaper and was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church and Third Order of St. Francis. Survivors include three daughters, Dr. Rose M. Yunker of Galveston, Texas, Mrs. Joseph E. Richardson Sr. and Mrs. Charles J. Bisig Sr.; two sons, James A. Yunker Jr. of Chicago and J. Michael Yunker of Circleville, Ohio; 21 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. John Priory, 3014 S. Third St., with burial in St. Louis Cemetery. Visitation is at Barret Funeral Home, 1230 Bardstown Road. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Holy Angels Academy.
