CROOKS - Lora Belle Crooks, 91, departed this life on Monday, Oct. 9, 1967, at 12:20 a.m.

Mrs. Crooks, the daughter of Horace and Ann Clark Wallis, was born Dec. 7, 1875 in Warren County, Ill., and came to Iowa as a young girl with her parents, seven sisters and two brothers. They settled in the Warren County area. She was a member of the Christian Union Church.

On Nov. 30, 1898, she was united in marriage to William H. Crooks. To this union were born six children. Two sons, Orlo, Columbus Junction, Gorham, Des Moines, and four daughters, Mrs. Stanley Orris, Allenton, Mich., Pauline Williams, Indianola, Mamie Chandler, Chariton, and Mrs. Homer Milleson of Milo.

She is also survived by one sister, Eva Cackler of Hanford, Calif., 34 grandchildren and 95 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at Mosher Funeral Home Oct. 11, 1967 at 2 p.m. Burial was in the Norwood Cemetery.
