Maria “Mary” (Lesher) (Riegel) Bohner was first married to Simon R. Riegel(CW) on 20 May 1858.
She resided in Klingerstown, PA.
Simon served the Union Army in Company A, 50th Infantry Regiment of PA. He was killed 9 May 1864 in the Civil War at the Wilderness Campaign in VA. Killed in action at the Battle of Ni River (SR). Originally buried at Beverly's Farm, Spotsylvania. Now lies in Grave 295 in Fredericksburg National Cemetery, VA. Desperate fight on the Orange C.H. Plank Road, near Todd's Tavern, May 6th, 1864. She later married Mr. Bohner.
