Carrie M. Hansen was born November 20, 1892 at Brayton, the daughter of Jens and Hanna Neilsen Petersen. She received her education at a rural school near Brayton and grew up in that area.

On June 26, 1915 she was united in marriage to Paul E. Hansen at St. Paul. The couple farmed near Greeley and Palmer prior to moving to a farm in the Cushing area in 1939. They later farmed south of St. Paul for a number of years before retiring and moving into St. Paul in 1957. Mr. Hansen died in February of 1971.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church of St. Paul.

She passed from this life on Wednesday, November 21st at Abel's Nursing Home at St. Paul at the age of 81 years and one day.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Ruby Messina of Easton, Pennsylvania; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Petersen and Mrs. Mary Morrison, both of Grand Island, one brother, Sam Petersen of Wolbach and six grandchildren.

Preceding in death were her husband, one son, Jimmie, and infant daughter, Mary, one grandson, Jimmie Jr., one sister, Mrs. Dora Travis and two brothers, Chris and Andrew and parents.
