As a young woman she taught school on Montgomery Ridge and in 1906 filed a homestead on Weisenfels Ridge near Anatone, Wash.
She later worked in the Asotin Post Office and served on the selective service board. For 26 years she was an Asotin County elected official, serving as auditor, clerk-auditor and treasurer.
She died at the age of 87 after a six-year illness.
