Florence Section, Sudden Death of Mrs. Readio
"Mrs. Mary E., 79, widow of George A. Readio, was found dead at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mary Wetherell, on North Main street Monday evening shortly after 6 o'clock. Mrs. Wetherell left for Brooklyn in the morning on a vacation trip and left her mother in her usual health. When Mrs Wetherell's son returned home shortly after 6 o'clock he found his grandmother on the lounge and he saw at once that she was dead. Medical examiner Seymour was called and he pronounced the cause of death as apoplexy. The deceased was born in Leeds and moved here from Manchester, N.H. about 38 years ago. Her husband was drowned at sea during the Civil war. She was a member of the Methodist church, and leaves, besides the daughter, three sons, Frederick W. and Charles H. of the center and Dr. F.M. Readio of this place. The funeral will be held at the house, 171 North Main street, tomorrow afternoon at 1:30, Rev. Mr. Sutherland officiating."
