JOE TREAMON STOKER, SR. , passed away Saturday, October 14th, at the age of 81. Formerly a long-time resident of Houston, Texas, Joe is preceded in death by his son, Jody Stoker, and grandaughter, Tracy Francis Stoker, his first wife, Audrey Lee Stoker, and other members of the Stoker ( Louisiana) and Lee (Texas) families. Joe had been residing at Oak Manor in Flatonia, and attended Muldoon Baptist Church. During the 1960's and through the 1980's, he was very active in politics for the Republican Party. Joe was a Past Master of Gray Masonic Lodge # 329 in Houston, and Past Worthy Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Blue Bell Chapter #856. He also participated in Shriners, Scottish Rites, Jaycees, and various other civic organizations. Mr. Stoker also coached for both boys and girls sports while a member of associations in the spring Branch-Memorial area of west Houston; and helped his daughter Laura reach the 1978 National Championship in softball. In addition, Joe's unbaised integrity enabled him to be an outstanding referee for 27 years as a member of the SW Football Officials Association, presiding over high school, college, and semi-pro football games in Texas. Mr. Stoker was a graduate og Louisiana State University, and held an Associates Degree from Tulane University, which he earned after serving in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was a wonderfully gifted singer, a member of many choirs over his lifetime, and a cheerful soul. Joe will be missed by many nieces and nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and especially his two daughters, Hillis Allen Bass of San Antonio, and Laura Stoker-Kaiser of Harper. Mr. Stoker was a dedicated businessman starting in insurance and eventually owning a specialty food franshise for South Texas and Louisiana. Joe continued to work in sales until his retirement a few years ago due to health reasons. Joe was always ready to help his family and more so, strangers, who needed money, food, or just a place to stay.

Mr Stoker is survived by his two daughters, and grandsons Bradley C. Stoker, Joe Treamon stoker, III (Trey), and grandaughters, Stefanie Elizabeth Kaiser, Morgan King Stoker, Elizabeth Hoyt (of Colorado), and Kathryn Andolina(of Florida), great-grandsons Ben. J. Stoker, Kyle Andolina, Ryan C. Vuong, and Noah Stoker; great granddaughters Rachel Hoyt, Brittany Rogers, (Virginia), Keilynn Lee; and one great-great grandson, Aiden Riley Stoker. Joe is also preceded in death by his beloved cousin Riley "RJ" Stoker, and brother Jimmy Stoker in 2004.

Friends and Relatives may call at Muldoon Baptist Church this Friday afternoon, October 20th after 3pm, for viewing, with church services beginning at 4pm. Pastor Chris Irving officiating and family members participating. A special gravesite service will be held at the historical Fort Jessup Cemetery, near Many Louisiana. Fayette Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements in Muldoon, and Warren Meadows in Many. The family asks that donations be made in lieu of flowers to Muldoon Baptist Church, or Shriners Burn Hospital in galveston, or other charitable organizations in his memory. Thank You.
