Area Merchant E.H. Lowery Passes At 65

Funeral services for E.H. (Hub) Lowery, 65, Trinity 1, owner of Lowery Grocery Store on the Decatur-Moulton Road, are scheduled Thursday at 2 p.m. at Caddo Methodist Church. Mr. Lowery died this morning at 3:30 at Baugh-Wiley Clinic where he had been ill for two weeks.

The Rev. James Anderton and the Rev. Chitwood are to conduct the service with interment in the adjoining cemetery, Brown directing.

Deceased had been in the grocery business for 23 years and was a member of the Oak Grove Church. He had resided in Morgan and Lawrence Counties all of his life.

Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Lottie Lowery, Trinity 1; six daughters, Mrs. James Kitchens, Decatur 3; Mrs. Ernest Rose, Pawpaw, Mich; Mrs. James McCleskey, Decatur 3; Mrs. Olor Gray, Trinity 1; Mrs. L.C. Gilliland, Decatur 3; Mrs. Herschel Hall, Trinity 1; three sons, J.E., Decatur 3; L.K., Willow Run, Mich; Herman, Trinity 1; one sister, Mrs. Bertha Wiley, Danville 2; three brothers, E.L. Lowery, Decatur; Lawrence Lowery, Danville 2; Ed Lowery, Mich; 37 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
