lois C. Abler, 79, of the village of St. Peter in Fond du Lac County, died of an apparent heart attack at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac.

He was born June 24, 1904, in St. Peter, a son of Peter and Katherine Halfmann Abler. His marriage to Alvina Sabel took place Sept. 5, 1927, at St. John Church, Johnsburg. The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. Until retiring in 1968, Mr. Abler farmed in the St. Peter area. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Holy Name Society, and St. Joseph Society.

Surviving are his wife; two daughters Sr. Anne SSSF of Hales Corners and Sr. Marie SSSF of Milwaukee; two sons, Francis of St. Peter and Leo of Bakersfield CA; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Edward, Herman and Bernard, all of Fond du Lac; and a sister, Mrs. Gregor Feldner of St. Cloud. Two daughters, a son, a grandchild, two brothers, and two sisters preceded him in death.

The funeral mass will be Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Peter Church in St. Peter. Preceding the mass will be rites at 10:30 at Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E. Division St., Fond du Lac. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 3 to 9 p.m. There will be a parish vigil there at 8 p.m.
