Francis served in the U.S Army during the Korean War, stationed in Alaska. Along with farming, he worked at Wells Manufacturing, Soo Line RR and Erv Pauly Construction. He was then co-owner of The Frank Nett Company until retirement.
Francis loved spending time with his family. One of his fondest memories is when his children and grandchildren went “Up-North” to their home on Pelican Lake and went water skiing, tubing and riding on the John Deere Gator. He also enjoyed the Brewers, Packers, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, welding, gardening and splitting wood (with his dog Sammi).
Organizations Francis was active in are the American Legion Post 454 of Mt. Calvary, Knights of Columbus Council #664, St Peter Athletic Club and the treasurer for the Town of Taycheedah.
Francis is survived by his beloved family and friends.
Visitation: Francis’s family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 from 10:00 AM to 1:15 PM at Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E. Division Street in Fond du Lac.
Service: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at 2:00 PM at St. Peter Catholic Church, in the Village of St. Peter. Burial will be in the St. Charles Cemetery with military honors.
