SOLDIER -- Rex Richard Hill, 72, Soldier, died Thursday March 17, 2005, at his home. He was born Nov. 11, 1932, near Goff, the son of Paul Atkin and Edna Pearl Freel Hill. He moved to Soldier from Topeka in 1965. He worked for Cargill in Topeka for 25 years before retiring in 1994.
He married Sondra June Hladky on June 6, 1954, in Soldier. She survives. Other survivors include a son, Rex Richard Hill II, Circleville; two daughters, Debra Lynn Sinclair, Circleville, and Lorri Ann Mahoney, Meridan; a sister, Nora Boeding, Lewiston, Neb.; a brother, Edward Hill, Soldier; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 22, at Mercer funeral home in Holton. Burial will be in Holton cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Contrabutions to the Rex Hill memorial fund may be sent in care of the funeral home.

Rex Richard Hill, 72, of Soldier, died Thursday, march 17, 2005, at his home. He was born November 11, 1932 near Goff, the son of Paul Atkin and Edna Pearl Freel Hill. Mr. Hill moved to Soldier from Topeka in 1965. He had worked for Cargill in Topeka for 25 years before retiring in 1994. He had also worked for Santa Fe and for Louk Oil Company, both in Topeka. he served in the U. S. Armyfrom 1953 to 1955 and was a member of American Legion Post #37 in Corning.
He was married to Sondra June Hladky on June 6, 1954 in Soldier. She survives. Other survivors include a son, Rex Richard Hill II of Circleville; two daughters, Debra Lynn Sinclair of Circleville and Lorri Ann Mahoney of Meridan; a sister, Nora Boeding of Lewiston, Nebraska, a brother, Edward Hill of Soldier; 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Krystal Rae Hill in 1960; a son, Paul Michael Hill, in 1995; a grandson, Paul Michael Hill II in 1977; and by a brother, Wilbur "Irish" Hill.
Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2005 at the Mercer funeral home in Holton. Burial followed in Holton cemetery.
