pub in the Fort Worth, TX, Star-Telegram on Thurs March 17, 1955 - JAMES THOMAS ORFIELD - HILLSBORO, Mar 16th - James Thomas Orfield, 74, a resident of Brandon for 41yrs, died at 12.20am on Wednesday in Dallas. He operated the Brandon Telephone Exchange. He was a native of Virginia. Funeral services will be on Thursday at Marshall & Marshall Chapel here with burial at Ridge Park Cemetery. Orfield is survived by his wife; 2 sons, C.D. Orfield of Hillsboro & Earl Orfield of Dallas; 7 daughters, Mrs B.W. Conaway of Hillsboro, Mrs Lloyd Prater of Ballinger, Mrs E. D. Greenhill of Shamrock, Mrs Malcolm Curtis of Bynum, Mrs L.E. McBrearty and Mrs G.W. Bonner all of Dallas, and Miss Mamie Orfield of Brandon; a brother, Isaac Orfield of Abingdon, VA; a sister, Mrs W. W. Manner of San Antonio; and 9 grandchildren & 2 greats.
