"Not Far from La Grange, in Lenoir county, N.C. Overlooking the valley of Bear creek and the site of the Old Bear Creek Baptist Church, surrounded by a fertile farm, is a beautiful knoll which, for nearly a century, has borne the name of "Natures'Beauty," it was once the hospitable home of Rev. Lewis Whitfield, a Baptist minister of the Olden time, and a prominent figure in the Neuse Association during the last century. He was one of four brothers, viz: Lewis, William, Bryan and Needham, all of whom were prominent Baptist, and two of who, Louis and Needham, were Baptist Ministers."
